Taronga Zoo's entire chimp community is on the move to a new state of the art sanctuary. It's no easy feat for keepers and vets as they try to relocate 18 of the zoo's most dangerous animals, including a bunch of burly teenage boys who are planning an ambush on the current Alpha male chimpanzee, Lubutu.

As one of the chimps lies gravely ill, the move to the new sanctuary suffers a set back. Now with a risk of infection keepers adjust their plans as they continue the move.

4. Giraffes and Care Bears

Giraffe Journey Not too many animals 3 and a half metres high have ever embarked on a 5 day sea journey. But to get where she's going, a giraffe named Kiraka must do this and endure a 13 hour trip by road.

5. Silverback Gorilla

Gorilla from France After a worldwide search Taronga Keepers have found a black back Gorilla in France called Kibali to replace their aging silverback. A new silverback is important to introduce a new bloodline to the region.

7. Bongo Baby, Tasmanian Devils, Condor Chick

Taronga is part of a breeding program to make sure endangered Tasmanian Devils remain on this planet. In this week’s episode of Wild Life at the Zoo, female Tasmanian Devil ‘Nina’ has mated with two feisty males, so who sired the precious Tasmanian Devil joeys? Keepers also prepare for the birth of one of the rarest mammals in the world and see the moment an Andean Condor breaks its way out of its egg.

8. Bird Show, Green Turtle and Little Penguins

Bird Show As part of our behind-the-scenes of Bird Show we are following two young Major Mitchell birds Mr Big and Bounce who are hopefully on their way to making it into the show. Keeper Felicity has been working hard on their training.
